Why is it when you start losing weight, everyone becomes an expert on your health? It’s funny, really. My favorite bit of advice is “don’t lose it too fast, or you’ll gain it all back”. Losing weight fast hasn’t ever been a problem for me, but gaining fast has! Most recently the advice was that if I loose weight at this rate I would put serious strain on the muscles of my heart and….clam the fuck down! It’s less than two pound a week. My shits are bigger than that. Also, where were your concerns when I was gaining this weight? You weren’t worried about my health as the scales were tipping 300 lbs.
That’s right, 300 lbs when I started this program a month ago. This morning the scale was 291. I’m not proud of that, but I am proud that I’m sticking to this.
If you’ve been following this blog, you know that I have been trying to lose weight for (FOREVER…but I also have a torrid love affair with food) a very long time. “Everything’s bigger in Texas” is no joke, and I’m no exception. I’ve gained 40 lbs since moving to this state two years ago.

- 291 lbs – Current weight
- 280 lbs – St. Patricks Day 2015 (MY FAVORITE HOLIDAY!!)

I’m not trying to lose weight for a wedding, reunion or vacation. I’m not trying to look better than or be better than you. I’m trying to be better than me.
